Paul Sorby

Paul is the Executive Director of Curriculum for Outwood Grange Academies Trust.

He started his time with Outwood in 2003 as an Assistant Principal, becoming a Vice Principal (Deep Experience inc Curriculum) in 2005. Paul quickly became an expert in his field and through Outwood’s National Leader of Education and other bespoke contracts, began supporting Curriculum Design, Curriculum Led Financial Planning and Timetabling in schools locally, regionally and nationally.

He was an SSAT Curriculum Design Lead Practitioner for two years, where he led curriculum workshops regionally and delivered presentations at national conferences. Paul’s work was recognised in 2008 when he was appointed as Associate Principal, Director of Curriculum to work across the Outwood Grange Family of Schools; and again in 2012 when he successfully applied to be become a Specialist Leader of Education in Curriculum Design and Diagnostics.

In Autumn 2016, his strategic value was further recognised when he was promoted to his current post of Executive Director of Curriculum for Outwood Grange Academies Trust and became a member of the Executive Board.

He holds the NPQH and now delivers on this programme, and numerous others, through the Outwood Institute of Education.

His role as Executive Director of Curriculum is a mix of both strategic and operational, a blend of support and challenge for senior leaders; and has always been, and will continue to be, about creating curriculums and timetables in schools and academies, which are economically viable, fit for purpose and enable students to achieve successful and life changing outcomes.
