Outwood Family Participating In Big Change Event Series

Members of the Outwood Family will be taking part in a panel discussion as part of the Big Change Event Series.

The ‘Pandemic as a portal’ discussion is part of the Big Change product, run by Big Education and ImpactEd. ImpactEd are conducting a study into the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on school-age children. Students in both primary and secondary Outwood academies have engaged in this survey.

The discussion will explore the impact of lockdown, reflect on the positive of the disruption brought about by the coronavirus pandemic, and look ahead to how educators can use lessons learned to make changes within the current system.

Outwood Family member Lauren Knowles, Vice Principal at Outwood Grange Academy, will be feeding back on how Outwood has used the survey data to provide targeted intervention and support, and the impact of this.

Also involved will be Peter Hyman, who will be discussing the ‘Rethinking Assessment’ movement and attendees will be hearing directly from young people and teachers who have been affected by the crisis.
