OA Easingwold Win Local Basketball Rally
A local school Year 9 basketball team is celebrating after winning Year 9 Hambleton and Richmondshire Area Basketball Rally.
The talented youngsters, from Outwood Academy Easingwold, won the tournament which was hosted at Bedale School
The team ran out clear winners after two dominating wins over the other participants. In their first game, the team from Outwood Academy Easingwold beat Thirsk School by a score of 20-9 and then followed that with an 18-5 win over Bedale School.
Jonathan Marwood, Head of PE at the York Road based secondary school, said:
“We are very proud of the team for their brilliant success. Although there were only three teams in the rally, the quality of the play was very impressive and the team did really well to come out as winners.”
The winning team was made up of students Euan Holder, Leighton Thirling, Joe Copes, Ned Gilson-Fox, Jacob Ward, Max Ingram, Evan Postill, Seb Goodridge, Logan Brownhill, Henry Burkill.
The team’s top point scorers from the two games were Logan Brownhill and Joe Copes.
