OA Ripon maintains ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating
Following an Ofsted inspection on 10th and 11th May, there has been “no change to this school's overall judgement of outstanding”.
Inspectors commented upon the “calm and orderly environment” within the academy where “pupils are supported by caring staff who know them well”. They observed pupils who “know that learning is important and apply themselves diligently to their work.” Leaders are delighted it was recognised that “all staff have high expectations for pupils’ behaviour” and “the behaviour policy is applied consistently.”
Within classrooms inspectors identified an “effective whole-school focus on broadening pupils’ use of vocabulary” and commented teachers have a “strong subject knowledge” and “are passionate about their subject” stating that there is an “ambitious curriculum in all subjects”.
It was identified that “Pupils with SEND are supported by knowledgeable staff who know them well” and “the personal development curriculum promotes diversity and respect for others.”
William Pratt, Principal, said:
“We would like to thank our students, staff, parents and carers and the wider community for their strong support and commitment to the academy both during the inspection and more importantly during the recent challenges we have faced together through the pandemic disruption of the past few years.”
Ofsted will reinspect the academy again within the next two years.
