Outwood Primary Academy Darfield welcomes new principal

A Barnsley primary academy has started the new school year with a new principal appointment.

Gemma Barr has been named as the new school principal for the Snape Hill Road-based Outwood Primary Academy Darfield, moving within Outwood Grange Academies Trust from her previous role as Vice Principal at Outwood Primary Academy Littleworth Grange in Lundwood.

Mrs Barr qualified as a teacher in 2008 after gaining her degree from Leeds Metropolitan University (now known as Leeds Beckett University).

When asked about her new role, she said:

“I am looking forward to joining a fantastic team of committed professionals at Outwood Primary Academy Darfield and to continue ensuring it is an academy where pupils, their families and staff are proud to be part of.”
