The Outwood Family Supports Children’s Mental Health Week

Today marks the beginning of Children’s Mental Health Week.

The initiative was set up by children’s mental health charity Place2Be as a way of shining a spotlight on the importance of children and young people’s mental health.

Each year, the week has a different theme behind it and this year’s theme is; “Find Your Brave.”

Martyn Oliver, CEO of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, said: “Across the Outwood Family, our academies will be marking the week.

“At Outwood we recently implemented our mental wellbeing strategy, which included establishing mental wellbeing champions in our academies. Today these mental wellbeing champions have helped launch Children’s Mental Health Week in their academy.

“We want the children in the Outwood Family to be supported to lead a life that is happy, healthy and safe. That is why we support initiatives like this one, and we will continue to do so.”

According to Place2Be, the week’s theme was chosen because: “Bravery comes in all shapes and sizes and is different for everyone. Life is all about taking small brave steps every day. Bravery could be about sharing worries and asking for help when you need it, trying something new or making the right decisions.

“When you Find Your Brave, it can help you feel good about yourself and more confident to face future challenges.”
